"When she finally lets go of her foolish ways, and sees the light for what it is, I'll be there." -Matthew
The sincerity of Matt's words speak to everyone. He sees her for what she is, and doesn't let the blind spots protest. It is of genuine need that fills his heart for her. He may love her, and he may wait for her, but there is no way any one's going to put a wedge between what she finds as no hope for. He believes in taking chances, in risks, and undoubtedly the claim of no chains to break, so no fight against it.
Even though he knows she may start singing one of her many songs about smiling when he cries, perhaps feeling guilt, then smiling again, he knows that nothing will stop him. He is determined to fight off a ward of ghosts for her sake, and even though she attacks his words as if they are meaningless, he knows her. He knows that while her smile is larger than life, inside she is frowning, crying even. He is the only one that isn't blind to her. While her mistakes weigh her down, drowning her, he pulls her back to shore. When no one will have a word with her, he will talk her out of her wits. She is blind, but he sees.
This is no love story. This is no romance where boy meets girl, they fall in love and raise a family. This is a story of hatred, of disbelief, of nothing. It means everything, but says nothing. It is only what you unfold from yourself that will bring the realization of what this story means.
This is hard to read. You should change the colors.
